Warrumbungle National Park
Warrumbungles Intro Grand High Tops Breadkhife Split Rock Animals

Probably the most popular walking track is the one to 'Grand High Tops' which goes around the Breadknife and up to a peak where you look down at it.
This walk starts out as a fairly leasurely walk with several bridges and only quite moderate grades

Along the way there is a short detour that takes you up to a rock outcrop called Spirey View because of the view it affords of the breadknife and other peaks.

The Breadknife is viewed almost edge-on from here, and is to the right of center in the photograph at right (This photo was taken by a friend we met on the walk who also came from Springwood!)

One of our friends that we met is shown below

Christian Perret.

The walk got a lot steeper after a while. A lot of this steep portion was paved, but they haven't finished building all the paving yet and some of it gets quite rough.
